Featuring the largest landscape park in Europe with baroque water features, the fairytale-like heritage site of the Brothers Grimm and the city with the third greatest concentration of museums in Germany, Kassel impresses visitors from all over the world with its cultural diversity and has already been crowned with two UNESCO World Heritage awards.

In addition to all of this, the numerous enticing leisure activities on offer make Germany’s greenest city a dream holiday destination - whether you’re after a weekend break or a longer trip. If you feel like going on a big shopping spree or want to try out some culinary delights with a regional flair, Kassel is the right place for you.

Tips for your stay

The Campingplatz is the ideal place to start your journey of discovery through the documenta city. You can reach the extensive Karlsaue state park with its Orangery as well as Kassel city centre, with its numerous attractions, shopping opportunities and museums easily from here. Museums such as GRIMM WORLD, the Brothers Grimm museum, are also located close by. Unique to Kassel are the numerous documenta outdoor exhibits, such as the ‘Pickaxe’ or the ‘Man walking to the sky’, that have left their traces all over the city landscape. Thanks to the well-developed local public transport system, you can also access destinations further afield by car or mobile home easily, such as the landscape park Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe,  We have put together some tips and attractions on our interactive map that may be useful to you. We hope you have a lovely time with us here in Kassel!

About us

We took over the campsite in 2017 after it lay idle for four years. As a first step, we invested a lot in its infrastructure (paths, water and electricity supply, hedges and trees). Unfortunately, we still have no access to the part of the property on which the former farm building stands. We, therefore, work with container solutions at the reception and the sanitary facilities, which are in any case in a very well-maintained condition.

Particularly important to us is the personal contact with our guests and a high level of customer orientation. During the operation of the place we have found a perfect partner with Baunataler Diakonie Kassel e.V. As part of an inclusion project, people with and without handicaps work together to make carefree camping holidays in Kassel possible.

Our site manager, Mr. Gunnar Fehling, and his team look forward to welcoming you.
